Tonya Sue McDaniel
Social Sales Manager — Wedding and Event Coordinator
Metro State College of Denver, Bachelors’ Degree in Social and Behavioral Science with a Minor in Special Education

Tonya has worked with the Hotel Boulderado since 2011 in the position of a Social Sales Manager as a Wedding and Event Coordinator. Before joining the Hotel Boulderado team, she worked for three years at the Sweet Tomato, a small locally owned pizzeria, where she learned to make Italian food, serve tables, and manage Sunday brunch. She also worked for ten years at the Chautauqua dining hall, for three years as a Pastry Chef, five years as a Floor Manager, and two years as a Sales and Event Coordinator. During her time with the Chautauqua Dining Hall she also held a position with Denver Public Schools working with special needs children. Tonya’s work experience has given her the skills  needed to effectively plan events and has a knack for calmly reassuring guests throughout the planning process.

Her favorite time of the year at the Hotel Boulderado is during December. The hotel is decorated so beautifully, and the spirit of the season is in the air. Her favorite gathering place is the Spruce room, which was at one time housed the Boulder Chamber of Commerce.

San Diego State University, Bachelors’ Degree in Communications Emphasis in Public Relations

Melissa joined the Social Sales team in 2013 with a background in marketing, outreach, and event management, having gained experience with fast-paced, unpredictable work environments with positions with the San Diego Padres and a sustainability program with Boulder County. During her time working for the county, Melissa worked with Boulderado staff members to plan an awards event and was extremely impressed with the hotel’s historic beauty and quality customer service.

Now as one of the Boulderado’s Social Sales Managers, Melissa enjoys sharing the timeless elegance of the hotel with clients and traveling guests. Her favorite gathering place is the Mezzanine; its handcrafted stained glass canopy ceiling still puts her in awe every day, and she loves to share its history when giving site tours.

Beverly Silva
Director of Business Development
University of Colorado, Environmental Design

Beverly started as a part-time housekeeper in 1983, and worked as a bus-girl in the main dining room, a front desk clerk, the switchboard operator, a reservationist, the elevator attendant, a cocktail waitress for “Music on the Mezz”, and a banquet server. She left Boulder for five years when she was in her mid-twenties to pursue her hotel career at the luxurious Lowell Hotel in New York City where she worked as the manager of the Pembroke Room for “High Tea” among other responsibilities. She returned to the Boulderado in the early 90s and worked as a Corporate Sales Manager, Social Sales Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing. She is now proud to be the Hotel Boulderado’s Director of Business Development.

Her favorite memory of the Hotel Boulderado happened while working as a Front Desk Clerk in 1987. She did the laundry for Robert Plant and his entire Led Zeppelin band (including the roadies), and they took her in their van to the concert at Red Rocks as a gesture of gratitude!
